Who needs the termite and rodent control bond?
In the State of Arkansas, termite and rodent controllers are required to obtain a $50,000 surety bond for the benefit of any person damaged as the result of a violation by an operator licensed under the statutes and for the benefit of any person who, after entering into a contract with the licensee, is damaged by the failure of the licensee to properly perform the contract.
The bond shall be executed by the applicant for a termite and other structural pests license or any combination of licenses that includes termite and other structural pests as principal and by a surety company licensed to do business in this state in the surety amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000).
The bond shall be executed by the applicant for a household pests and rodent control license or any combination of licenses that includes household pests and rodent control as principal and by a surety company licensed to do business in this state in the surety amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000).
What is the termite and rodent control bond?
The termite and rodent control bond protects the party requesting the surety bond, the Obligee, against any financial losses as a result of poor financial choices, damages, unethical decisions, or a failure to adhere to state and local laws on the part of you, the Principal. By obtaining your bond, you are telling the Obligee that you can be trusted and that you stand by your business decisions.
All Arkansas termite and rodent control bonds expire annually on June 30th.
What else do I need to obtain or renew my license?Pest control licenses and certificates are issues on an annual basis. The licenses and certificates are valid for one state fiscal year (July - June) and must be renewed prior to July 1 each year.
There are 10 different classifications of pest control license or certificates. The type of pest control service a person or business wishes to provide may dictate the type of bond required, along with license and certifications.
Commercial applicator license annual fees are $150 for one classification, $250 for two classifications, and a $300 maximum for 3 or more classifications. Non-commercial applicator certificate fees are $70.
