The Florida Health Studio is a $25,000.00 bond. This bond is available in 1 year term.

Health Studios are required to register with the department annually and a letter of credit or certificate of deposit. Health studios will also need to post a surety bond. The purpose of this security is to reimburse members if the studio fails to meet its contractual obligations to its members. The law authorizes the department to collect registration fees; penalty fees are imposed on studios that do not register or post security.

Who needs a health studio bond?

In the State of Florida, health studios are required to obtain a $25,000 surety bond to be in compliance with Section 501.016 of the Florida Statutes. 

What is the health studio bond?

The health studio bond protects the party requesting the surety bond, the Obligee, against any financial losses as a result of poor financial choices, damages, unethical decisions, or a failure to adhere to state and local laws on the part of you, the Principal. By obtaining your bond, you are telling the Obligee that you can be trusted and that you stand by your business decisions.

What else do I need besides the bond?

In lieu of maintaining the bond required in subsection (1), the health studio may furnish to the department:

  • An irrevocable letter of credit from any foreign or domestic bank in the amount of $25,000; or

  • A guaranty agreement that is secured by a certificate of deposit in the amount of $25,000

The original letter of credit or certificate of deposit submitted in lieu of the bond shall be filed with the department. The department shall decide whether the security finished in lieu of bond by the health studio is in compliance with the requirements of this section.
